Sony Ericsson has released the second version of the white paper detailing the XPERIA X1. The white paper does not have very many changes from last time, but there are a couple of very interesting changes. These interesting changes include revealing there are two versions of the X1, also it details frequency bands the device will use.

Yes there are two versions. The X1a, and the X1i. We of course know what that ‘a’ means. This device is on its way to AT&T, it will support AT&T’s HSPA network, and is quad band GSM for world wide use. This device has a few changes, such as the inability to encode h.264 videos, and also the ability to only record videos at QVGA resolution.

The X1i will be what the rest of the world see. This device is also quad band GSM, but it changes up the 3G frequencies to include the 900MHz band, which is now being used for HSPA. Each device has very respectable battery life, with 10 hours of GSM talk time and 6.5 hours of UMTS talk time. Sorry T-Mobile, but support for band IV is no where to be found. There will be no 3G love from Sony Ericsson this time for you.
